FAQ
Questions students ask about architecture in Turkey
Is a Turkish architecture degree recognized?
Universities in Turkey are approved by YÖK, Turkey's Council of Higher Education, and their degrees are official Turkish university degrees. Architecture is a regulated profession in many countries, so working as a licensed architect may also need a master's degree, professional training or a registration exam. Check the rules of the country where you want to work before you enroll. Programs with MiAK or NAAB recognition have also been reviewed by an architecture accreditation body.
How long is architecture in Turkey?
A bachelor's degree in architecture usually takes four years. If you need to improve your English first, add an English preparatory year.
Is architecture taught fully in English?
At the universities on this page, there is an English-taught option. Some universities teach architecture only in Turkish, for example Atılım, so check the language column in our program search.
What is the difference between architecture and interior architecture?
Architecture covers the design of whole buildings and their place in the city. Interior architecture focuses on the design of interior spaces. Both are usually four-year degrees, and course lists differ between universities, so compare them before you choose.
