Why Turkey
Why study physiotherapy in Turkey
A four-year degree
A bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation takes four years. If you need to improve your English or Turkish first, you usually study a preparatory year.

Universities in Turkey are approved by YÖK, Turkey's Council of Higher Education, and their degrees are official Turkish university degrees. For North Cyprus, check the recognition of your program before you enroll.

Admission
Admission requirements to study physiotherapy in Turkey
What universities usually ask for
- Valid passport
- High school diploma (or expected graduation letter) and transcripts
- For English-taught programs: an English certificate such as IELTS or TOEFL, if you have one (many universities also run their own English test)
- For Turkish-taught programs: a Turkish certificate, such as TÖMER, if you have one
- Passport-size photo
Private universities usually admit international students on their high school grades, without a central entrance exam. Health programs such as physiotherapy can have higher grade or language requirements than other programs, and each university sets its own minimum grades.
For English-taught programs you show an accepted English certificate or take the university's own English test. For Turkish-taught programs you need a good level of Turkish: you show a certificate or study a Turkish preparatory year first. We also help students with Ankara University TÖMER exams in Istanbul.

Yes. The universities listed above offer an English-taught Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation program. Some universities, such as Acıbadem, Üsküdar and Near East, teach it only in Turkish.
Do I need to speak Turkish?
For a Turkish-taught program, yes: you show a Turkish certificate or study a Turkish preparatory year first. Even in an English program, some Turkish helps during clinical training, where you work with patients.
How long is physiotherapy in Turkey?
A bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation takes four years. A preparatory year in English or Turkish can come before it.
Is a Turkish physiotherapy degree recognized?
Universities in Turkey are approved by YÖK, Turkey's Council of Higher Education, and their degrees are official Turkish university degrees. Physiotherapy is a regulated profession in many countries, so to work as a physiotherapist abroad you usually need to register with that country's health or physiotherapy authority, which may ask for an exam or extra documents. Check the rules before you enroll. For North Cyprus universities, check the recognition of your program with your own country's authorities too.
